I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL), Stanford University, and hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute (EUI), Florence. My research focuses on political behavior, repression, and war-induced Russian emigration. I am passionate about statistics, experimental, and survey methods.
Before joining Stanford and the EUI, I worked as a junior research fellow at Ronald F. Inglehart Laboratory for Comparative Social Research and taught quantitative methods at Higher School of Economics (HSE) and European University at Saint Petersburg. I received a Master’s degree in Social Sciences from HSE, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from a university in the middle of Russia. I also happen to have a Candidate of Sciences degree in Social Philosophy.
Alongside Ivetta Sergeeva, I am a co-founder and co-principal investigator of two multi-wave survey projects: OutRush and ViolenceMonitor. OutRush is a panel survey of Russian emigrants who left the country due to war after February 24, 2022. ViolenceMonitor focuses on intimate partner violence and conducted victimization surveys in Russia in 2021. Both projects have received wide media coverage, both in Russia and internationally, from outlets such as The New York Times, Bloomberg, Financial Times, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, CNBC, Fortune, Meduza, Forbes Russia and The Moscow Times.
